One point that it is important to stress is that THC is clearly the most abundant cannabinoid in the cannabis plant and is also the one that most people reflexively think of when considering cannabis for either medical or recreational uses. THC is the cannabinoid that is responsible for the psychoactive sensation derived from cannabis consumption. It is the source of that “stoned” feeling.
By contrast CBD is not psychoactive. In fact, interestingly, CBD has been shown to actually counter or reduce the psychoactive effect of THC.

The Path Forward
As with many situations related to the study of CBD as a therapy or treatment, much of the evidence we have is in its early stages or anecdotal.
Therefore, much of the work lies ahead in establishing its capacity to act as a treatment or therapy on a mainstream established basis. However, the data we have so far for CBD as a treatment for anxiety disorders is extremely promising and should serve as an excellent launching point for more sophisticated and rigorous research.
However, since CBD products are known to have no serious side effects, no potential for overdose, and no psychoactive impact, and are legal in most places around the world, many people are already enjoying the benefits of this substance to help them in many ways in improving the quality of their lives, including those currently suffering from anxiety disorders.
